The City of Edmonton is growing up. With cranes dotting the downtown skyline, Downtown Edmonton is seeing a resurgence like never before. The groundwork has been laid for the incredible changes occurring Downtown through plan development and innovative implementation strategies. Private developers and public organizations are investing $5 billion in the core, from new drainage pipes to condo towers to urban parks, a world-class arena and the surrounding district. In this tour we will explore the area around Rogers Place and Ice District - the second-largest mixed-use urban development in North America and a major part of Downtown's resurgence and will include a guided tour of Edmonton’s Neon Sign Museum.

The Neon Sign Museum, the first of its kind in Canada, features a collection of historic signs that tell a story about Edmonton’s neon past. The City of Edmonton has collected 19 neon signs, all of which have been restored and installed on the east wall of the Telus building and the south wall of the Mercer Warehouse at 104 Street and 104 Avenue. The signs that were chosen are iconic signs and representative of the commercial signage that was so prevalent in Edmonton’s history.
